Are you afraid of math? Don’t be ashamed, a great many people are. Math anxiety is just as prevalent in adults as it is in children. Also prevalent is the myth that math is difficult to learn and that some people are just plain bad at math. Calgary Public Library, in partnership with Canadian Oil Sands and its Math Minds consortium, has developed an extremely popular and successful program that aims to dispel this myth in children. Since January 2013, Math Minds classes at CPL have helped nearly 1400 elementary students improve in math.
In this webinar, learn about the Calgary Public Library’s Math Minds program and discover how you too can create your own successful numeracy program for children.
