    The budget is an important tool for the library board and management. It is a blue print for service in the coming year and a tool for managing financial activities. The budget is a working document that must be thoughtfully prepared. This self-directed online course examines the budget process from gathering information for decision making to monitoring revenues and expenses. The nature of working in the municipal environment is considered as is the importance of policies and procedures. In this self-directed course, students will learn basic information about budget preparation, presentation, implementation and maintenance.
