This is a recorded webinar, provided by SOLS. It is available free of charge, on demand. It was recorded June 2017.
This panel discussion promises to be lively and engaging as representatives from three public libraries talk about the role they play in supporting, connecting, promoting, and empowering local culture. It’s also a timely discussion in light of the Ontario Government’s Culture Strategy that calls on libraries as a key partner in every community, to play a leadership role in strengthening culture in their communities, reducing barriers, and increasing participation in cultural activities. Our panelists will share examples of some of the ways they champion local culture, facilitate creative connections and initiatives, and support the culture sector. Throughout the discussion we will work together to identify best practices in cultural leadership and guidelines for sustaining effective and successful cultural partnerships.   There will also be time for sharing ideas and success stories, as well as talking about some of the challenges.
